Bruce was born and raised in Trail, B.C. and was educated at the University of British Columbia. He has practiced in the West Kootenay with the same firm since being called to the bar in 1983. He was made a Queen Counsel in 2006 and received the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Attorney General for British Columbia in 2013 for meritorious services to the Legal Profession. He is a Life Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia and served as its President in 2012. The first member of the Kootenay Bar to do so in the 130 year history of the Law Society.

Preferred areas of practice: General Practitioner with concentration on Real Estate and Corporate & Commercial Solicitor's work and Personal Injury & Civil Litigation Barristers work.

Tom was born and raised in Kaslo. He obtained his law degree at the University of Victoria, articled with the Dept. of Justice (Canada) in Vancouver, and spent the next 4 years based in Yellowknife as a Crown Attorney. During that time Tom traveled throughout the Northwest Territories and Yukon as part of the legendary "flying circuit courts" where he represented the Crown in all manner of criminal and drug offences. Tom moved back to Kaslo in 1989 and practiced as a sole practitioner from 1990 to 2020, running a general practice with an emphasis on real estate law, family law and wills and estates. Over the years Tom was a member or chair of various local boards and committees. He served a term as Village Councillor. From 2008 to 2014 Tom was a member of the Patient Care Quality Review Board for the Interior Health area, and from 2014 to 2018 he chaired that board.In September of 2020 Tom joined Thompson LeRose & Brown to run their new Kaslo office.

Preferred areas of practice: Real estate law, wills and estates, and non-court family law.

Isaac Ferbey was called to the bar of British Columbia in 2008, after graduating from the University of Victoria in 2007 and completing his articles with Marvin Stern in Surrey. After nearly ten years of private practice at all levels of trial court in the lower mainland of B.C., Isaac joined Thompson, LeRose & Brown as associate counsel in March 2018.

Preferred area of practice:  Criminal law. He is a federally appointed agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada in the Kootenay region, and he also defends clients against motor vehicle act and criminal code charges ranging from impaired driving and assault, to the most serious charges including murder.

RYAN R.W. SOOKORUKOFF

Born and raised in Castlegar, B.C. Ryan attended Stanley Humphries Secondary School before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006 (Philosophy). In 2010, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at UBC with a Juris Doctor degree. He was called to the B.C. Bar on August 2011 and is practicing with Thompson, LeRose & Brown in Trail and Castlegar.

Preferred areas of practice:  Civil Litigation, Creditors' Remedies / Collections and Foreclosure and Insolvency Law.

Jeff was born and raised in the Kootenays and is happy to return home to begin his career. Jeff both summered and completed articles with Thompson, LeRose & Brown.  Prior to joining Thompson, LeRose & Brown, Jeff worked in the Credit Union industry where he was involved in residential and agricultural lending as well as internal loan auditing.  Jeff was called to the Bar in May 2015 and works in both the Castlegar and Trail offices.

Preferred area of Practice:  Wills and Estates, Commercial Mortgages, Corporate and Commercial Law, Real Estate and Property Law.

Douglas was born and raised in Trail, B.C. and obtained a Science Degree from the University of British Columbia and a Law Degree from Bond University in Australia. He has been with Thompson, LeRose & Brown since 2019 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in January 2021. His goal is to provide the best service to each and every client no matter the task at hand. Outside of the office Douglas participates in local sporting and musical events. He is an active volunteer and member of the board of directors of The Children’s Sanctuary House. He loves his hometown and is always looking for ways to get involved within the community.
