Legal Aid

The British Columbia Legal Services Society provides a range of free services that may help you. Priority is given to people with low incomes, but many services are available to all British Columbians.

Small Claims Court Claims

In British Columbia, most civil law disputes with a value between $5001 and $35,000 are resolved in the Small Claims Court. This is a division of BC’s Provincial Court.

Civil Resolution Tribunal Claims 

In British Columbia, most civil law disputes with a value of $5000 or less are resolved in the Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT). Most new claims for motor vehicle accidents and injuries with a value of $50,000 or less will also proceed through the CRT.
